Mr InBetween — TV Therapy RX
Mr InBetween Is Not Comfort TV — It’s Survival TV for Gen X
This isn’t escapism. It’s recognition.
Most TV shows want you to feel better.
Mr In-Between doesn’t bother.

Ray Shoesmith isn’t inspirational. He’s efficient, exhausted, and allergic to nonsense. He lives by rules because chaos is expensive — emotionally and otherwise. That hits differently when you’re Gen X, stuck in the middle, carrying responsibility from both directions.
If you’re caring for aging parents, raising kids, working full time, and quietly holding it together on caffeine and obligation, this show makes sense in a way “comfort TV” never will. It understands grit. Boundaries. The cost of being the one who handles things.
This isn’t about glorifying violence.
It’s about recognizing the emotional math of survival.
